Vancouver BC – Tribe Rentals Corporation announces it has successfully completed the Climate Smart Program for 2013.
The Climate Smart Program helps businesses measure carbon emissions and plan emission reductions. Tribe is pleased to add this accomplishment to their many other environmental initiatives.
Branko Cvoric, Director of Regulatory Compliance at Tribe acknowledges, “I was surprised at the amount of work involved to measure our emissions. We measured the gross green house gas emissions by activity at our offices in Calgary, Coquitlam, Delta, Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George, Victoria, Montreal and Cambridge. Transporting people turned out to be the highest percentage of emissions for all of our offices.”
Moving forward the company plans to examine which steps they can take to reduce emissions. Some of the steps are easy and have already begun while others are challenging. Training and education will play a significant role in bringing emission reduction top-of-mind.
